HISTORY OF SILENTNIGHT


Silentnight was founded on 11th July 1946 by Tom Clarke, originally being named Clarke’s mattresses Limited. The name was changed to Silentnight Limited in 1951, which was suggested by Tom’s wife, Joan. This name change helped the company to grow, and Silentnight is now one of the largest bed and mattresses manufacturers in the UK.
