Fishpools Charities

Our Fishpools Charities programme has supported our fantastic local charity partners for over a decade now and this year, our commitment is going even further! We strive to give something back to the people who live and work where we do, and our charity partners deliver crucial services to thousands of people across Hertfordshire and neighbouring areas.

We wanted to highlight the incredible work our charity partners provide, their mission, goals, and stories, and let you know how you can join us and get involved in supporting their work!

Essex & Herts Air Ambulance

Equipped with a fleet of helicopters and rapid response vehicles that provide 24/7 support, they can be rushed to the scene with life-saving support equipment. Each critical care team consists of a pilot and co-polit, a pre-hospital care doctor and critical care paramedic, and they can deliver advanced clinical care usually only available in the hospital emergency department.

With annual running costs of £12 million and only limited support from Government, fundraising efforts from local people and businesses is crucial.

Teens Unite

Since 2007, Teens Unite has been supporting people aged 13-24 living with cancer by organising safe, inclusive, and fun activities to prevent loneliness and unite young people with others who genuinely understand.

With over 2,500 new cases of cancer in teenagers and young adults diagnosed every year and 3 in 4 experiencing mental health problems, long-lasting support through diagnosis, treatment and remission is crucial.

Teens Unite’s free activities and residential stays enable these young people to make new friends, learn new skills, embrace new challenges, and live with their diagnosis in the best possible way.

Tonnes of Care Pledge

Fishpools has recently taken Isabel’s Tonnes Of Care pledge to help donate 25,000 tonnes of saleable, unwanted goods by 2027.

This scheme protects the planet by reducing landfill levels and helps generate funds by stocking their 18 stores to facilitate Isabel’s support. One tonne of t-shirts could sell for over £2,000, which equates to over 77 hours of specialist nursing care!

Since taking on the pledge in 2022, our teams have donated over a tonne’s worth of goods. This equates to over 400 hours of patient care! We’re so proud to be involved with this excellent scheme and can’t wait for the next opportunity to contribute.
