Dining, Bedroom & Cabinet Care

Thank you for choosing to purchase your new furniture from Fishpools. This guide will help you care for your investment and prolong its life.

General Care

All free-standing furniture must be placed on a level surface. We recommended that rubber or felt pads are used under legs to protect hard flooring. Note these can become loose or worm overtime and may need to be replace. If installing on carpet it is recommended that you move the carpet gripper in the area where your new furniture will stand, to avoid it leaning forward.

Free-standing furniture should be fixed to the wall where appropriate and may be supplied with straps or fixing brackets. This is for your own safety. please note our delivery team or fitters are not able to do this for you. We also recommend that you periodically check the tightness of the legs.

During assembley and positioning of freestanding furniture you should allow a 2cm gap to allow air flow around the furniture. To prolong the appearance of your new furniture, avoid placing hot plates or dishes directly on the product.

Spots and spills should be dealt with as soon as they happen by dabbing with a clean absorbent cloth. If your furniture is protected by our stain warranty, please refer to the separate guarantee and cleaning advice.

Sunlight & Heat

Avoid positioning your new furniture close to heat sources or in prolonged sunlight. failure to do so may cause excessive colour fading or ageing of the finish. Mellowing in colour over time in natural, even if your product is not in direct sunlight.

Extending & Swivel Tables

Open and close extending or swivel tables with care and never force them. There may be a height tolerance of 2-3mm between the tabletop and extension leaf. This is perfectly normal.

Natural & Reclaimed Wood

These leathers are sensitive to spills and oily substances including hand and hair oil. We advise applying a protection cream prior to use and on a regular basis as instructed. This will increase durability and resistance to stains, spots, grease marks and spillages. Avoid using general polishes, creams or detergents. These natural leathers may mark which gives an aged authentic look. It may also present significant variation in shade and texture on the same hide. It is therefore not always possible to achieve a uniform match between adjoining panels. This is completely normal.
