Wall Mirrors

To hang a wall mirror safely, choose a suitable position and use fixings that are appropriate for both the wall type and the weight of the mirror. Measure and mark the fixing points carefully, checking they are level before drilling or installing any hardware. Heavier mirrors may require specialist or additional fixings, particularly on plasterboard walls. Always check the mirror’s fitting instructions and ensure there are no hidden pipes or electrical cables before drilling into a wall.

Whether you should choose a round or rectangular wall mirror depends on the look you want to create. Round mirrors introduce softer curves and contrast well with angular furniture, while rectangular mirrors offer clean lines and can help emphasise either the height or width of a space.

A wall mirror does not have to match your furniture exactly, but coordinating its frame colour, material or shape with other elements in the room can create a cohesive appearance. Alternatively, a contrasting statement mirror can introduce character and become a focal point.
