How do I choose the right rug size for a living room?

To choose the right rug size for a living room, consider the size and arrangement of your sofa, chairs and coffee table. A generously proportioned rug can help connect the furniture and define the seating area, while a rug that is too small can make the arrangement feel disconnected.

Should a rug go under a sofa?

A rug can go under a sofa, and positioning at least the front legs of the sofa on a sufficiently large rug can help visually connect the seating area. The best arrangement will depend on the dimensions of the rug, sofa and room.

What size rug should go under a dining table?

The size rug that should go under a dining table needs to accommodate both the table and chairs. Allow enough additional space around the table for dining chairs to remain comfortably on the rug when they are pulled out.

★

From order to delivery, everything was seamless. I received clear updates throughout, and the delivery team assembled the furniture and took all packaging away. I've trusted Fishpools for over 50 years - always reliable. One very happy customer!

★

It’s rare these days, but Fishpools always does exactly what they promise - on time, every time. The quality is excellent, and spending a little more is worth it for the peace of mind you get in return.

★

Our 2-hour delivery slot was confirmed by 4 pm the day before, followed by a call when the truck was just 30 minutes away. The fitters were friendly, professional, and efficient - even laying down a runner to protect our hall floor. They made sure I was happy before signing and even thanked me for the tea! Highly recommend Fishpools.
