HISTORY OF LAURA ASHLEY

Laura Ashley’s impressive journey can be traced back to 1935, when Laura and Bernard Ashley began designing and printing headscarves, tablemats and more in their flat in London. Her inspiration came from a Women’s Institute display at the Victoria & Albert Museum and she started printing Victorian style headscarves in 1953 after spotting a gap in the market.

Since then, the Laura Ashley brand has continued to grow into an international retail chain, offering a variety of home and fashion products in timeless designs and signature prints, including Laura Ashley bedding, home accessories, dinnerware and more.
