This autumn colour is most definitely back in vogue and the bolder the better. Here at Fishpools we love this woodland palette with a few modern twists but we know that colour can be daunting so we’ve come up with five easy steps to get you there in style:

SELECT YOUR PALETTE – Choose a main colour and select three spin off colours to create your look.  Think about light, dark and contrast matching different hues of the main colour with contrasting shades to brighten.

COLOUR BLOCKING – The position of your colours is important and colour blocking is the key to this trend.  You’re aiming for bold blocks of pure colour on the larger items to achieve the effect, where pattern is used, keep it graphic.

WORK YOUR WALLS – Painting is a great way to achieve this look without making a permanent commitment.  Adding a bold colour to a feature wall creates a new look in an instant and can be easily changed with the seasons.

ACCESSORISE WISELY – Graphic print cushions utilising your chosen palette will amplify the effect as will a nod to your chosen look – we’ve chosen woodland tones so these stag pictures in three block colours work perfectly.

SHOW OFF YOUR BOOKISH SIDEThe Sunday Times Style dubbed ‘bookstagramming’ (showing off piles of books) as the next big trend this weekend and we’re pleased to say we’re ahead of the curve. Use your library to add colour by grouping books into their natural tones for a geek-chic effect.
