MEASURING UP

MEASURING UP

First things first, you need to decide if you want your Blind fitted inside or outside the window recess.

A very good option for windows in small rooms and without much wall space between them. This also gives you the opportunity to team them up with curtains.
Frees up windowsill space so ornaments and decoration can still be on display even when the blinds are closed.
The blinds can even be fixed to the window frame itself.

INSIDE THE RECESS

A very good option for windows in small rooms and without much wall space between them. This also gives you the opportunity to team them up with curtains.

Frees up windowsill space so ornaments and decoration can still be on display even when the blinds are closed.

The blinds can even be fixed to the window frame itself.

Much more suited to larger rooms and larger windows. Blinds outside the recess will block out much more light as they will cover the entire window. If a window frame is slightly uneven then light could creep through.
As they are not directly in sunlight, the colour of your blinds will last much longer.
Although ornaments will not be on view, they can sit on the windowsill undisturbed when putting blinds up and down.

OUTSIDE THE RECESS

Much more suited to larger rooms and larger windows. Blinds outside the recess will block out much more light as they will cover the entire window. If a window frame is slightly uneven then light could creep through.

As they are not directly in sunlight, the colour of your blinds will last much longer.

Although ornaments will not be on view, they can sit on the windowsill undisturbed when putting blinds up and down.

DID YOU KNOW?

Blinds are fitted with a discreet control chain to protect any little ones from getting tangled up.

HOW TO MEASURE FOR OUTSIDE RECESS

For a blind that’s going to hang outside the recess, measure the width of the recess and add 4cm to each side, then measure the height of the recess and add 15cm.

HOW TO MEASURE FOR INSIDE RECESS

For a blind that’s going inside the window recess, measure the width of the recess at its narrowest point and the height of the recess.

HAVE YOU CONSIDERED. . .

Decide which side the pulley and catch should be in case accessing them will be an issue.
