If you’ve just decorated but still think there’s something missing that you can’t quite put your finger on, try adding a few accessories to complete the look.

Think of a room like you would think about an important outfit – whether it’s for a sophisticated dinner or going out with your friends you dress to impress, but sometimes you can’t help but feel that there is a little something missing - so what do you do? You add accessories to finish off your outfit. So why not think about your home in a similar manner - those little extras do make a big difference.

If you have opted for a plain décor you have the world at your feet! Try adding a hint of colour, bright fresh citrus colours are fabulous for the summer months. There are some terrific ways to introduce these colours into rooms whether it is a slight hint or to brighten the room completely.

To accessorise the room subtly use exotic fruit such as lemons or limes. On their own or mixed together they look fantastic in a large glass bowl placed by the fireplace or on the kitchen table.

For a more daring look use brightly coloured vases for your fruit arrangements or create a ‘talking point’ amongst your friends and place bold abstract prints on your wall.
