Tufted or Woven. Tufted carpet is great value and a popular choice. A row of needles punches the yarn into a backing cloth making a bouncy carpet available in a huge choice of colours and textures. Woven carpet uses a traditional loomed process, which delivers a high quality finish. The colours and patterns are woven into the carpet rather than printed on the surface, and both varieties are available at Fishpools. Axminsters are mainly patterned and Wiltons tend to be plain.
Natural. Natural flooring such as coir, sisal and jute are also popular alternatives to carpet.
Performance. Carpets are graded to indicate their durability so you can choose the appropriate level for your home. At Fishpools, we stock a huge variety of carpets, all designed for different levels of wear and all tested to achieve the following grades:
- Very Heavy Domestic. Best for heavy traffic areas.
- Heavy Domestic. Perfect for everyday use in halls, stairs, landings, living and dining rooms.
- Medium Domestic. Suited best to light traffic rooms like bedrooms
